Start a course

explico is an npm package, explico. A course is a repository of its own that depends on it and holds content/.

Downloads

The starter is the one to start a course of your own from: download it, run it, then replace its content. The playground and credit-and-derivatives are complete courses to read and run.

Download What it is Engine Source Size
explico-playground-latest.zip The playground: every engine feature on a short physics course explico@0.16.0 explico v0.16.0 (2026-10-13) 285 KB
explico-starter-latest.zip The starter: the playground cut to one part and one chapter, every file one example of its kind explico@0.16.0 explico v0.16.0 (2026-10-13) 43 KB
credit-and-derivatives-latest.zip A full course: credit and derivatives, as taught explico@0.15.0 credit-and-derivatives 557a318 (2026-10-12) 542 KB
  • The playground exercises every engine feature on a short physics course. It is the worked example the engine's documentation refers to: a path there that starts with playground/ is a file in this download. See it live.
  • The starter is the playground cut to one part and one chapter, with the notation, competency, assessment and source that chapter needs and nothing else, under generic names: a valid course in which every file is one example of its kind, to replace rather than to prune. Start here for a course of your own.
  • credit-and-derivatives is a full course as it is taught, with its own rules and deployment. See it live, or browse its repository.

Each link above always points at the newest version: the playground at explico's latest release, the course at its latest commit. downloads/sources.json lists the same with the engine version, source commit and checksum of each.

Run one

unzip explico-playground-latest.zip
cd playground
pnpm install
pnpm validate:content
pnpm dev # http://localhost:4321
pnpm content help # the authoring CLI

With an AI agent

Point the agent at the engine's guide first: node_modules/explico/docs/authoring/agents.md once installed, or the newest release's copy. It names the content verbs an agent drafts with (context, rules, rule, symbol, equation, bindings, check, migrate), the validate sequence and the rules. pnpm content init-agent --write installs the engine's drafting, upgrading and reviewing procedures into the course's .claude/, in releases that have it.

Make it yours

Unzip the starter into a new repository and replace what it holds, one example of each kind: its README says what to rename and in what order. Each download carries .github/workflows/deploy.yml: pushed to GitHub with Settings → Pages → Source set to "GitHub Actions", the course publishes itself at https://<user>.github.io/<repository>/. When you upgrade explico, pnpm content migrate prints exactly the steps between your version and the new one.
